The holiday season is nearly upon us! And to give your holiday shopping lists a jump start, I’ve compiled my first-ever royal-inspired gift guide! It features items known to be faves of the royal family, as well as items inspired by their history and luxe lifestyle.
I added so many things to this list that I had to break it into two parts. I’ve also tried to reflect a reasonable price range; you’ll find gifts from $15 to $350 on this list. Everything is linked for your convenience (some of these items use affiliate links, meaning I make a small commission if you make a purchase).
In this first installment, you’ll find gifts for every Fashion Icon, Hostess, Decorator, and True Princess on your shopping list. Part 2 will be released on Thursday, November 28th. (Don’t worry, it will be free to read rather than our usual paid exclusive Thursday drop!) Make sure you’re subscribed so you don’t miss out!
And as you embark on your holiday shopping this year, why not use Rakuten to earn some of your cash back? I’ve been using Rakuten since 2021, and in that time, I’ve earned $764.33 in Lifetime Cashback. Use my referral link to join, and we’ll both get a $40 bonus when you make qualifying purchases using Rakuten. (Not sponsored, just a great service with real value).
Now, without further ado…
For the Fashion Icon
Longchamp Le Pliage Handbag
Both the Princess of Wales and the Duchess of Sussex have carried this classic, understand handbag. Kate owns at least four! In a world of options, the Le Pliage tote offers a practical choice that aligns with approachable royal style—perfect for everyday errands or long-distance journeys.
Anything from the Warm + Wonderful “Black Sheep” Collection
No sweater is as famous as the iconic red, white, and black sheep crewneck worn by Diana Spencer to a polo match in 1980. A few years back, the original designers, Warm & Wonderful, partnered with Rowing Blazers to bring the pattern back to life in a fresh variety of colors and styles.
You can now get the iconic pattern on watches, scarves, hats, even pajamas. If the original jumper is a bit too eye-catching, try a low-key cardi moment instead.
Awe Inspired Woman Power Necklace
The Duchess of Sussex wore this pendant during a virtual appearance for Global Citizen’s Vax Live concert in May 2021 (while pregnant with Baby Lilibet!)
From the brand: “A female Venus symbol combined with a protesting fist represents the power of the feminine and celebrates women’s achievements, strength, and persistence in a world that often seeks to dim their light.”
Cuyana Classic Easy Leather Tote in Black
The Duchess of Sussex, as a strong supporter of ethical fashion brands, is a major fan of chic, sustainable designer Cuyana. She's worn their timeless leather bags several times over the years—including their Structured Tote. Yoou can find that staple bag on resale sites, but the brand has now updated their design with the Easy Tote. (Cuyana is also a great starter luxury brand if you can’t quite stomach a $700 price tag for a mini-handbag.)
Earsass “Issy Star” or “Catherine” Earrings
In 2023, the Princess of Wales wore this pair of star-shaped hoops to mark “World Mental Health Day.” They are a “tribute to Earsass founder Sophie’s cousin Issy Phipps who took her own life on the 29th of April 2023…now a beautiful star.” £5 from every pair sold is donated to the mental health charity BRAVE MIND.
In 2024, Earsass also launched a tribute design to Kate in thanks for her boosting Issy’s story. I’ve been gifted both the Issy Star and The Catherine earrings (which feature a boh-inspired array of glass beads), and they are stunning!
Birdies “The Starling” Loafer
I am unashamed to admit that I own no fewer than fifteen pairs of slippers by the Duchess of Sussex-approved slipper brand. (Don’t worry for my wallet, I sourced most of them on Poshmark). They’re unbelievably chic, comfortable, and versatile—I wear them to work, around the house, to the doctor, and to take the trash cans to the curb.
Meghan was spotted in a staple pair of black “Starling” loafers in 2018.
For the Hostess
“Together: Our Community Cookbook” by The Hubb Community Kitchen
In 2019, after the devastating fires at the Grenfell Tower, the women of the West London community came together to cook meals for the victims of disaster. The Hubb Kitchen Community, as the group became known, partnered with the Duchess of Sussex to release this stunning 50-recipe cookbook, which details the history and significance of each dish.
Gusbourne Brut Reserve
King Charles and Queen Camilla love this English sparkling wine from Gusbourne so much, that they asked for it to be served at their coronation celebrations. Bright gold in color, it offers festive notes of cinnamon and spice. Yum!
Smythson of Bond Street Stationary
In 1890, Queen Victoria commissioned the boutique Smythson to produce custom goods for each of her royal residences, and ever since, the brand has been the royal family's go-to supplier of stationary and leather goods. Get it personalized for that added luxury touch.
Highclere Castle Gin
The perfect boozy gift for lovers of Downton Abbey! Born from the real-life castle “renowned for its parties and acclaimed for its taste,” Highclere Castle Gin has won over 200 international spirit awards. Distilled from a blend of botanicals grown right on the Highclere Castle estate, it’s utterly delicious in cocktails or (especially in the case of the special barrel-aged version) on the rocks.
International shipping is available and, IMO, not at all prohibitive. I’ve ordered from Highclere twice and my gin was extremely well-packaged.
Mrs. Bakewell's Cream Tea Box
Mrs. Bakewell’s is the only American company offering quality, home delivery of a luxe cream tea experience! Their signature box includes delicious, homemade scones (in a variety of flavors), English clotted cream, fruit preserves, and classic tea sachets. Make it a party or enjoy alone for a moment of quiet luxury!
Manners Begin at Breakfast by Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece
This modern guide to etiquette addresses everything from basic table manners to social media decorum. And Princess Marie-Chantal of Greece is the perfect guide to these rules for modern family life—after all, she has 5 children! Each chapter of the updated 2024 edition (which also includes tips on navigating a post-pandemic world) includes delightful anecdotes and personal stories from Marie-Chantal’s experience putting her own advice into practice.
For the Decorator
“Buckingham Palace: The Interiors” by Ashley Hicks
Written by Prince Philip's godson, designer Ashley Hicks takes readers inside the official residence of the British monarch in this gorgeous coffee table book. It includes photos of rooms rarely seen by the public, as well as the interiors we all know and love.
Penguin Clothbound Classics
In 2021, Kate appeared in a photo seated at her desk—which featured a pretty set of Penguin Clothbound Classics. The accessibly-priced books make them the perfect home accent for some light academia vibes. The Jane Austen Box Set is a great place to start a collection, or you can mix and match from the dozens of available titles.
The blog Kate’s Closet even compiled a list of the exact titles in Kate’s collection!
Jo Malone Orange Blossom Scented Candle
Jo Malone London's Orange Blossom became a signature royal scent in 2011 when the soon-to-be Duchess of Cambridge requested a number of the candles to be lit during her and Prince William's wedding at Westminster Abbey. The citrusy floral scent will transport you to a shimmering garden oasis.
For the True Princess
SweetV Lover’s Knot Tiara
What’s a princess without her crown? This replica tiara, inspired by Queen Mary’s Lover’s Knot (as seen on Princess Diana and Princess Kate) will have you sparkling everyday.
As a partner with SweetV, I can vouch for this tiara’s quality and save you a bit of $$$! My code MATTAOFFACT saves you 15% on SweetV’s website and their Amazon listings. I’ve given their pieces as Christmas gifts, Mother’s Day gifts…you name it. I’ll even be wearing one of their cubic zirconia tiaras for my wedding!
Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector Lip Gloss
This bougie lip gloss was revealed to be in the Princess of Wales’ beauty bag when she pulled it out during a 2019 Wimbledon match. A softly textured lip gel with a deliciously sweet scent and 3D shimmer, the Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfecter is sheer (making it perfect to complement your favorite lip shade), but still shaded enough to wear alone for lightweight, princess perfection.
Taylors of Harrogate Pure Assam Tea
Taylors of Harrogate, founded in 1886, holds a Royal Warrant…meaning they supply the iconic teatime beverage to the royal family. Made with 100% natural Assam tea, this was one of the preferred brews of Her Late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Nothing but the best for the princesses on your holiday shopping list.
This was just Part One of our 2024 holdiay gift guide! Be sure to check back in on Thanksgiving for the rest of the list, which includes royal beauty secrets, perfectly outdoorsy gifts, and more!
