Well, Meghan relaunched her brand and her Netflix series will start soon so William had to do SOMETHING. Why else this interview, with this person, now? What's the actual 'hook' for the interview? Was the world waiting for discussion of the 'future King' (and doesn't King Charles get annoyed about that kind of stuff?)
Remember, Kate and William did a few events around the time the series was supposed to start, before Netflix chose to delay it because of the fires (correct call). So I fully expect a new round of engagements to happen soon, once they get back from Mustique, of course. And probably a few new articles rehashing old gossip, like this one.
Couldn’t agree more! Very well said! I guess what Meghan said about the “real estate” on the tabloid front page, is true. The principal royals can’t get enough interest unless Meghan and Harry’s names are attached. I notice on all these royal fan pages, the four top principals don’t get as many clicks as when the Sussex’s are talked/smeared about.
I don’t believe Meghan bullied anyone, but rather came into the picture as a grown woman, with her own ways and goals, intolerant of the bullying and undermining they had planned for her. Women, most especially black and bi-racial women, are the target of these ‘humbling’ hazings in the workplace often. There are two types of women. Those that tolerate it for fear of the consequences and those who do not, despite any consequences.
The entire lifelong rift between William and Harry seems to be one of similar paradigm. Where William has tolerated certain constraints, due to indoctrination and ‘duty’ to protect the $1b Duchy purse, Harry has refused to be scapegoated and harassed - essentially calling the media’s bluff. The resentment factor has always been related to choice and mentality.
Harry and Meghan’s critics within BRF will claim, through aides, sources and rotten rota members, that H&M made bad choices and behaved poorly. What they really mean is, ‘How dare they make choices I or the others were too afraid or too constrained make; and it all work out?’ From Spare, Oprah, Netflix, it is clear that the family form is to simply put up with these abuses, from within and outside. In Meghan, Harry found a woman, who like his mother, has refused to dim her light. Harry had a real chance at revenge, had the tabloid trial gone any further. You’d think that after sparing the BRF from certain exposure by settling, they’d lay off. But…it seems KP at minimum is intent on keeping the fire burning.
Spot on. I think it also really sticks in Kate's craw that when people think of who best embodies everything Diana stood for, they think of Meghan and not her.
I agree. I will be forever curious about those correspondences between the Palace and the newspaper. There was something(s) in it they desperately wanted to keep quiet.
I can’t imagine myself spending all day, everyday on this app thinking I’m trolling Meghan Markle only for her to post a series of beautiful videos enjoying family time in her beautiful, peaceful Montecito garden 😂
I think they found Meghan difficult and bullying because she actually expected her staff to do work and she showed up prepared every day, asking for business presentations, etc. KP staff were likely not used to this, as W&K didn't do much. I also think this was part of the problem - Meghan never wanted to be a lady who lunched. She wanted to do real, tangible work and that was work that Kate never could compete with, so she of course had to be bullied out.
I do think its beyond absurd that they are still talking about this, years later. They're never coming back. It's too bad too because they would have been such an asset to the monarchy. No one really cares anymore about the principles because they're dull. I did read an article that this interview was trotted out to try to discredit Meghan as a nice person/homemaker ahead of her show. Anyone who says that KP doesn't keep track of what she's doing and sends out W&K to try to draw attention I think is wrong. I think they absolutely do, because while W&K do as little as possible, anytime H&M are launching or doing something big (tour, Invictus, WLM, etc.) W&K suddenly are out and about. W&K have always needed them way more than H&M need them, and ever since H&M called their bluff and left and are successful and thriving...here we are 5 years later STILL talking about the same narratives. It's truly sad.
Meghan's mistake was marrying a political institution where she was NEVER to outshine the late Queen, King Charles III, and Prince and Princess of Wales. She was the wife of the "spare," required to follow archaic protocols, smile and wave, make the occasional speech, but never to outshine the principal actors in the royal kabuki. She also had to understand that the British tabloids are ruthless and staunchly royalist, at service to The Firm. She's old enough to remember Princess Diana and the ordeal she had to endure. So none of this should come as a surprise.
Something that really stood out to me in Spare is how much Will and Kate didn’t like Meghan for literally no reason. Harry doesn’t explicitly say it but it’s heavily implied that it’s because of racism. It’s ok for her to be on their tv, but not in their lives.
I think one of the reasons they (Will, Kate, and the firm) keep bringing up Meghan is because they feel the need to make an example out of her. They’re trying to make sure no person of color will ever dare to think they could marry into the monarchy. So, even as she thrives outside of the monarchy, they still need to prove she’s nothing, she cannot succeed, especially without them.
This makes me laugh, you know why? Because the fact that a rep from confirmed Meghan is still with WME should be enough to debunk the entire article and yet despite the MAIN lie being debunked, they sprinkle in the littler lies so they still have an article. THINK if they lied about her being dropped, they’re lying about the rest.
I believe he is trying to advance a positive image for William vs building some platform for himself. However, he is forever branded with the "Sussex bullying" scandal and the media's obsession with HandM ensures nothing else he says gets any airtime. Further, even if it's not his intention to focus on the Sussex's, there IS no other media narrative about William. His calendar is so slim, there is little proactive work to focus upon beyond his very pallid promotion of Earthshot, and he never makes bold or controversial moves to generate media. All that is left is the Kate cancer story, or the Harry story. He has defined no strong positive narrative for himself. That is why Knauf's presence, whatever his intent, results in just stirring up the old Sussex story--because there is nothing else to talk about.
As a communication professional and PR strategist, I always am amazed by how wrong the KP team seems to get things. I don't it's just that the PR team is bad, it's a combination of things. 1. The PR team does what Kate and William ask them to without having a strategic and conscious lens to how the messages (actions and words and often a disconnect with these) will play out. There is nothing new to report and very little work done but K&W that they are sitting in an information valley and simply bringing up old narratives versus providing something new. I don't actually mind the timing if there is some good (and consistent) new news to report. I also think they lack diversity.. Jason performed successfully in the UK, with H&M under watch where 80% are white. That's more difficult on the world stage where we're hearing more from H&M through their work. In some respects, this ill-informed counter strategy has created more interest globally that may actually help H&Ms outputs and brands...that's what Netflix is counting on. As a professional...I ultimately look for results. Dollars, views, stats. I have a feeling that With Love, Meghan and As Ever results will be off-the-charts good.
Yes, exactly: "Speak assertively, and risk being labeled “bossy.” Display anger, and be seen as “bitchy”. Remain stoic, and be called an “ice queen.” Cry, and get pegged as too emotional. Women in the workplace are constantly walking a tightrope."
I think they’re worried about people judging her authenticity for themselves, because they want their media created persona of her to be the only narrative. It’s why even after over 2 years of her and her husband saying peep about the royal family in any interview, they still freak out about the most basic conversation they have with any sort of person on the record.
It’s harder to sell an idea about a person, if you could just go straight to the source to double check it. Want to write a story about how Meghan doesn’t have any friends? Here’s a Instagram reel with her and a friend you didn’t even know she had. Want to write about how Harry is flailing and doesn’t have anything to do all day? Here’s the Instagram photo behind the scenes of Harry meeting with politicians, Fortune 100 CEOs, top military brass in a country.
They’ve controlled the narrative so long that they worry that people can just go directly to her Instagram, can just watch the TV show she’s doing themselves, can just read Harry’s book for themselves, can just watch the docuseries, or listen to the podcast themselves. The we pay you pose model doesn’t work on them. And at the end of the day for all of their racism and everything else in the background which informs how they have chosen to present a narrative of her, it’s about the money, she drives business and is removing them from the equation
This Knauf seems like a scammer. I would guess at this point he's just enriching himself, maybe not monetarily, but through influence, fame, etc. William doesn't seem like a very good judge of character!
These people take this stuff so personally, like her doing what she wants to do is an attack on them. Meghan doing her thing will have absolutely zero impact on these people but they treat it like a constitutional crisis. This is not normal.
I think everyone is entirely missing the point with the interview. Yeah there are some headlines about Meghan and her (many) bullying accusations but that has more to do with who they interviewed and not what they were talking about. Jason will be asked about those accusations until the end of time. And he likely feels vindicated now that several publications in the US and UK have come out with more bullying accusations. What’s really interesting about this program imo is what the actual 60 minutes interview was about. William and what kind of King he will be. We’ve heard even less about Charles’ condition at this point than we have about Kate’s. It’s said he’s still receiving treatment for cancer. Is it looking like William will be king even sooner than we all anticipated?
Exactly. The bullying made it's way to the American media and it's the British fault?. Ok. And plus Charles is probably on his last leg right now- when was any tangible information about his health released & immediate succession planning is going on.
Jason kanuf,is ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT ROYAL FAMILY PERSONAL MATTERS,BUT HARRY ISENT ALLOWED TO TALK ABOUT HIS LIFE AT ALL,AND ISENT ALLOWED TO PROTECT HIS WIFE.but kanuf willileaks henchmen,is allowed to go on TV and say what he wants about who he wants,With willileaks permission
That NYC shop better watch out then, a chinese company has the rights on clothing, Meghan isn't in that space🤣. In an attempt to diss Meghan, the mail just confirmed The Duchess is good to go as her application is valid and no where near clothing.

I really doubt that the RF is timing or strategizing activities around what the Sussex's do.
Lol, you must be living in space then!!
Absolutely 💯. They have enough going on in the UK and Commonwealth to occupy them. Harry and his wife are history.
Lol, History. That's why all of a sudden, she is talking about making Jam.
